Intended Outcome

Learn how to assign users the permissions to use Say Hai - the AI assistant in ESS.

Assign ESS Assistant permission to users

Before employees can use the ESS Assistant, they must be assigned the "ESS Assistant" permission.

  1. Open Access Control
  2. Open the "All groups" tab in the top left corner of the screen

  3. Select the user group(s) which should be allowed to use the ESS Assistant. Typically, this is the "ESS" user group or any of its subgroups. If you would like to use a pilot group, you should create a new user group for the pilot participants.
  4. For the selected user group, open the "Group permissions" tab
  5. In "Permission categories", select "ORTEC WS for Employee" > "Assistant"
  6. Click "Grant" to grant the selected user group the ESS Assistant permission

Without this permission:

  • The ESS Assistant will not be visible in ESS7.
  • The ESS Assistant will not be visible in the ESS mobile app.
  • Employees will not be able to start conversations with the assistant.

We recommend assigning this permission only to users who are intended to have access to the functionality.

To use the ESS Assistant, employees must have the appropriate permissions within ESS. The assistant always respects existing ESS authorizations and only provides access to information and actions that users are already allowed to access.
